SIDE LETTER 15. Work-Life Balance – Tenure-Track Faculty

A tenured or tenure-track faculty member may request flexibility in research and service due to circumstances covered by the Work-Life Balance provision (Article 23, Section BB) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Dean will make the final determination regarding the ability to provide flexibility in assignment; however, the tenured or tenure-track faculty member may request a review by the Office of the Provost. The Provost’s decision will be final. TAUP will be notified of any case that is reviewed by the Office of the Provost at the request of a tenured or tenure-track faculty member. Neither the decision of the Dean nor that of the Provost will be grievable or arbitrable.
