TAUP Elections 2019

We Welcome Candidates to Run for TAUP Office

  1. Officers– President, Vice President, Treasurer:

Terms are from May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2021.

 

  1. Tenured/Tenure Track Constituency Council:

Three positions from May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2022.

 

  1. NTT Constituency Council: 

Four positions from May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2022.

 

  1. Adjunct Constituency Council:

Four positions from May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2022.

One position From May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2020.

 

  1. Delegates: 

Five alternate positions from May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2020.

Delegates represent TAUP at affiliate meetings of AFT, AFT PA or Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO.  Alternate positions allow delegate substitution as necessary.

 

 

How to Get on the Ballot: Nomination or Petition

 To run for election:

  1. You must be a dues-paying member of TAUP;
  2. You must state in writing your willingness to be a candidate;
  3. You must provide a statement about your background and vision (100 words or less) to be distributed to the membership.

 

If you are not nominated directly by the Nominating Committee, you can nominate yourself by submitting a petition signed by at least 15 dues-paying members along with fulfilling the above criteria.

 

Self-Nomination Petitions must be received by the Nominating Committee, TAUP Office, 1301 Cecil B. Moore Avenue, Ritter Annex 721 (004-15), Philadelphia, PA 19122-6091, by Friday March 29, 2019.

 

Ballot information will be emailed to all dues-paying members on or about Monday, April 15, 2019.

 

Ballot counts will be announced at a General Membership Meeting on Monday April 22, 2019 in the Paley Library Lecture Hall beginning at 1 pm.

 

Incumbents may also run for re-election; there are no term limits on any positions.
